Buckinghamshire Council’s decision to reject plans for a multi-million-pound film studio is set to be reviewed by the Government.
The council rejected the application for permission to build the £750m Marlow Film Studios development over concerns about its impact on the local road network.
The studio, which has the backing of Avatar director James Cameron and James Bond director Sam Mendes, could generate £3.2bn in local investment and create 4,000 jobs, according to the developers.
The housing secretary, Angela Rayner, will reportedly decide on the planning permission.
Peter Strachan, Buckinghamshire Council’s Cabinet Member for Planning and Regeneration, said: 'We are very concerned that, by calling in this decision at the highest level nationally, whether local impact and opinion can be truly reflected in the final outcome.
'We will be robustly defending the decision of the council as the local decision maker to refuse this application in evidence to the appointed Inspector at the Inquiry and the Secretary of State, and will urge them to fully consider the significant local concerns.'
