West Midlands Police will review allegations of illegal family voting during Birmingham's May local elections, working alongside Birmingham City Council and the Electoral Commission.
The review reportedly follows reports from polling station staff describing repeated attempts to influence voters, including people entering voting booths together and using gestures to indicate how others should vote.
The practice was brought into focus following allegation it was rife in the Gorton and Denton by-election.
A police spokesperson said: ‘We will be assessing new information that has come to light and will work with Birmingham City Council and the Electoral Commission as part of the review process.’
