Planning officer boost needed to meet parties' housing goals

A major boost to planning department resources would be needed to meet the housebuilding aims of any of the main parties, experts have said this week.

Cash-strapped councils in England are still struggling to process the 25% drop in the number of applications compared to 11 years ago.
