The number of public electric vehicle (EV) charge points increased by over 3,000 in the first quarter of this year, up 8% compared to the start of January.
Published by the Department for Transport, the data shows there are 40,150 public electric vehicle charging devices installed in the UK.
Compared to the 1 January 2023, the number of total installed devices increased by 3,095 and the number of rapid charging or above devices increased by 760 – an increase of 11%.
The data, provided by the electric vehicle and charging point platform Zapmap, shows that since 1 April 2022 the number of installed public devices has increased by 9,860, a 33% increase.
The number of rapid charging or above devices increased by 39%, an additional 2,153 public devices installed.
