Four councillors have been appointed to a town council after all of its members quit.

Yarm Town Council was left ‘temporarily unable to act’ after its 11 councillors resigned this month, reportedly due to a ‘toxic’ atmosphere.

Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council has appointed four councillors until an election can be held.
