National Pothole Day is back!

Today is the second day dedicated to challenging the scourge of our roads and pavements: the pothole.

Started last year by campaigner Colin Mahoney, owner of www.streetrepairs.co.uk, the day has returned in order to bring attention to the poor state of the country’s transport infrastructure.

Reflecting on last year’s National Pothole Day, Mr Mahoney said:

‘Reports of potholes increased dramatically with over 88% of reports now relating directly to potholes and increasing the awareness nationally of the seriousness of the problems and potential dangers relating to the disrepair of our roads.’

‘Street Repairs’ acts as a centralised forum where concerned members of the public can report road defects.

It has garnered praise from RAC and Auto Express.

‘The highway authorities and their insurers are starting to sit up and taking notice of “Street Repairs”. They have to! We are a force fighting for you, the public,’ Mr Mahoney said.
