The Government has put Three Rivers District Council’s local plan on hold because of a shortfall of 5,000 houses.
The minister for housing and planning told the council that its current plan only meets 56% of the area’s housing needs, with ‘little explanation’ to justify this approach.
Cllr Stephen Giles-Medhurst OBE, leader of the council, said: 'The council has received the minister’s letter, and we fully intend to comply with the request to supply all the documentation asked for by 19 February.'
