MPs have criticised the ‘glacial’ progress of delivering government-funded levelling up projects.
Mandarins from the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities faced the Public Accounts Committee following a National Audit Office report that found last March that just £900m had been spent of £10bn offered by the Towns, Levelling Up and UK Shared Prosperity funds.
