Lincoln grants license for Lamborghini taxi

Lincoln residents will soon be able to hire a Lamborghini as a ‘taxi with a twist’, council says.

The City of Lincoln Council has granted the taxi firm Handsome Cabs a license to use the Lamborghini Huracan as a specialist private hire vehicle.

The supercar is capable of reaching speeds of over 200mph, and will go from 0-60 mph in just 3.4 seconds.

However, most of Lincoln has a speed limit of either 30 or 40mph, so the council stressed passengers will have to ‘be content with looking fabulous’.

‘Our licensing committee received an unusual application from Handsome Cabs and have granted a licence for their Lamborghini Huracan as a specialist private hire vehicle, for restricted use,’ said Cllr Cath Brothwell, chair of the council’s committee.

‘It is certainly an impressive vehicle and one which will no doubt turn many heads around the streets of Lincoln and beyond.

‘People will be used to seeing cars like this in The Fast and Furious, but not so much on Firth Road and Flaxengate!’
