Leaders from combined and local authorities met in London on Monday with the aim of creating new partnerships to help meet the Government's aim of delivering 1.5 million homes.
The event, which included leaders from over 250 institutions, was part of the Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) and Homes England’s efforts to secure new private investment into housing and the renewal of towns and cities.
Lords Minister for Housing and Local Government, Baroness Taylor said: ‘Our ambition to deliver 1.5 million homes over the next five years will require significant investment and that’s why we’re working closely with investors, local leaders and communities to unlock the capital needed to get Britain building again.’
Peter Freeman, chair of Homes England, said: ‘This event is about sparking partnerships between the institutional investor community and local and national leaders across towns and cities as well as partners from across the housing and regeneration sector. Partnerships that unite us together behind one common aim: to create more thriving homes and places that people want and need.’
