Labour intervenes at Tameside

The leader of Tameside MBC has resigned after Labour took steps to directly intervene over ‘unacceptable working practices' at the authority.

Labour leader Ged Cooney's announcement he is to step down with immediate effect follows the resignation of chief executive Sandra Stewart.
