The Local Government Association (LGA) has agreed to develop a model policy on parental leave for councillors.

It comes after Manchester City Council leader Bev Craig yesterday told a meeting of the LGA’s executive advisory board how she had to ‘battle’ her authority’s legal team who she claimed had put barriers in the way of adopting a parental leave policy.
