Hull City Council is providing schools with an early intervention tool aimed to boosting pupil attendance.

The ATTEND Framework helps identify all contributing factors when attendance falls below 90% and enables schools to work with pupils and their parents or carers to create support plans.

Hull’s portfolio holder for children’s services, Linda Tock, said: ‘There are many reasons why a child might be missing school.

‘That’s why we are providing schools with all the tools they need to support families and get to the root causes of non-attendance.

‘A holistic, wraparound approach will help ensure families get the right support from the right agencies.’

The ATTEND Framework was created at Brighton and Hove City Council.
