Actor Rupert Grint has secured planning permission for a nine-home eco-village on his Hertfordshire estate, on condition he contributes at least £187,000 towards local infrastructure.
The funding, agreed as part of the planning consent, will go towards schools, public spaces, library services and youth facilities in the surrounding area. The approval also comes with conditions covering transport provision, accessibility standards and environmental measures, reflecting the development's eco-focused design.
North Hertfordshire District Council granted the permission despite opposition from some local residents, who raised concerns about the scheme's impact on green belt land
The Harry Potter star has not commented publicly on the approval. It is not yet clear when construction on the nine homes is expected to begin.
