Gove takes ‘personal interest’ in council landlords image

Seven councils are among the landlords to have received letters from housing secretary Michael Gove after falling foul of watchdogs.

Chief executives at Ealing and Lambeth LBCs, Milton Keynes Council, Tandridge DC, and Nottingham and Westminster city councils all received letters following ‘severe maladministration’ findings by the Housing Ombudsman.

Mr Gove also wrote to the leader of Camden LBC, Georgina Gould, after the council received a regulatory notice by the Regulator of Social Housing for breaching fire safety standards.
