Gloucestershire County Council has named six primary schools that will see solar panels installed.
The solar panels will generate average estimated annual savings of £4,360 per school and are expected to last at least 20 years.
Cllr Stephen Davies, leader of the council, said: ‘This is part of our ongoing commitment to solar power in the county, and brings cost-saving, cleaner, greener energy to schools across Gloucestershire.’
The schools are as follows:
• Castle Hill Primary School in Brockworth
• Eastington Primary School in Churchend
• Holy Trinity Primary School in Cheltenham
• Northleach Primary School in Northleach
• Soudley School in Soudley
• Tredworth Junior School in Gloucester
