Members of the trade union GMB have voted to reject a 3.2% local government pay offer.

Over three quarters (77%) of the almost 150,000 council staff balloted voted against accepting the offer.

Kevin Brandstatter, GMB National Officer, described it as a ‘real-terms pay cut; one of the worst in the public sector’.

The decision by GMB’s membership follows Unite’s rejection of the offer last week.
