Labour's local government reorganisation (LGR) plans are likely to hit existing unitaries as ‘fierce competition' breaks out for chief executives, a top recruiter warned this week.
As districts and counties prepare for reorganisation, director of Penna Julie Towers told The MJ: ‘If you're a unitary chief in London, where there's no LGR, or the North West or North East then some juicy jobs are going to be coming up. So, the competition is going to be quite fierce in some areas.'
