Dorset Council is looking beyond its borders for potential partners in a devolution deal bid.

A full council meeting will be asked on Thursday to back leader Spencer Flower to ‘progress discussions’ he has undertaken informally with unnamed neighbouring authorities.

According to a report, Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council remains a frontrunner due to a ‘shared economic geography’ and a 'strong view prevailing in Westminster’ expressed privately that it would be ‘good contender for a deal’.
