Dorset Council has launched a recruitment company to help fill temporary roles.

The unitary authority set up a joint venture with Commercial Services Group (CSG), which is owned by Kent County Council.

The council said the new firm, Connect2Dorset, would provide Dorset with its contingent and interim workforce in a ‘more sustainable and cost-effective way’.

Dorset Council’s executive director of corporate development, Aidan Dunn, said: ‘This approach will help us to ensure a consistent provision of temporary workforce into our range of roles, including where we have our greatest challenges such as the care sector.’

He also said the council would benefit from CSG’s recruitment experience. The firm has launched recruitment agencies with Dudley, Kent, Hampshire, Luton and Surrey councils.
