Stoke-on-Trent City Council's cabinet is set to sign off today on a statue of rock legend Motorhead frontman Lemmy.
The 2.25m bronze sculpture was granted planning permission last year but requires additional authorisation because it is on highway land owned by the council.
A council spokesperson told the BBC: ‘Stoke-on-Trent has produced many famous faces over the years and what better way to honour one of our own than by installing a statue in the town where they were born – and in our centenary year as well.
‘We are looking forward to welcoming visitors from all over the world for the unveiling.’
The statue will be unveiled in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent, on 8 May.
