Council signs agreement with 10 housing associations

Lambeth Council has signed a joint agreement with all 10 housing associations operating in the borough to transform housing services.

The ‘Memorandum of Understanding’ is the first of its kind in London and will aim to find more efficient ways of providing housing services.

The partnership will also build new homes, tackle homelessness, improve safety on estates and boost youth opportunities.

Cllr Paul Gadsby, Lambeth’s cabinet member for housing, said: ‘This is an exciting new partnership between Lambeth and local housing associations that will provide a platform for us to tackle, with residents, the big housing issues facing our borough.’

The plan will apply to 26,000 council managed homes and 24,000 homes managed by housing associations.
