Council secures bike ban against burglar

A burglar has been banned from riding a bicycle for two years after Oldham Council obtained a criminal behaviour order against him.

The order also prohibits Graham Frederick Fox from having power tools, gardening equipment, games console or games in his possession unless he has a receipt for the items or permission from the owner to use them.

The 39-year-old, of Fields New Road, Chadderton, cannot enter the garden, yard or driveway of any private dwelling without the consent of the owner or occupier. Councillor Barbara Brownridge, cabinet member for neighbourhoods and co-operatives, said:

‘Oldham Council and our partners take criminal activity very seriously and we will not hesitate to take action against those whose actions cause problems for residents.

‘Burglary and theft cause misery for residents and business owners and we will not tolerate this kind of behaviour.’
