Dorset Council has appointed Local Pension Partnership Investments (LPPI) as the new pooling partner for the £4bn Dorset County Pension Fund, which supports over 80,000 members across more than 200 employers.
The decision, made by the council’s Pension Fund Committee after independent analysis, follows a government directive for Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) funds to consolidate into stronger pools.
Cllr Andy Todd, vice-chair of the committee, said: ‘This is a positive step towards securing the long-term sustainability of the Dorset County Pension Fund.’
Chris Rule, LPPI chief executive, welcomed the partnership, highlighting opportunities to improve performance and affordability for Dorset’s members, employers and taxpayers.
The change will not affect members’ benefits or contributions, which remain guaranteed under the LGPS scheme.
