Buckinghamshire Council is encouraging the public to help them combat roadside littering by submitting dashcam footage and photos of littering incidents.

Council staff will review the collected evidence and issue penalties to vehicle owners based on captured registration plates.

Martin Tett, leader of Buckinghamshire Council, said: 'Litter is a scourge on our society and in Buckinghamshire residents have had enough. Our roadsides and verges are strewn with plastic bottles, cans, discarded wrappers and paper that people have wilfully thrown from their vehicles with wanton disregard. We know this is an issue that residents feel strongly about and so we are planning to crack down hard on those who commit this crime.'

The penalty for littering can be up to £1,000.
