Clark stresses spending review was 'good result' for local government

The spending review was a 'very good result for local government', according to communities secretary Greg Clark.

Speaking exclusively to our sister magazine The MJ, Mr Clark claimed the initial negative reaction to the spending review from the Local Government Association was because it was ‘confused’ by how good it was.

He said: ‘It was a very good result for local government and it reflected the fact we had listened very carefully. What the sector said loud and clear was that social care needed to be addressed.’
