The council that increased new homes supply the most last year has urged the Government to take ‘urgent action’ on the ‘deepening housing crisis’.

Brent LBC called on the Government to provide £100m additional funding for Discretionary Housing Payments (DHP) in 2023-24 and an additional £200m in 2024-25.

Government funding for DHPs in 2023-24 has been frozen at 2022-23 levels despite increasing homelessness pressures.
