Blackpool Council's planning committee has approved the demolition of a town centre neighbourhood to clear space for a new £65m university campus.

The plans will see 59 homes demolished and the construction of three buildings on the site.

The campus, known as University Centre Blackpool, will be part of the £350m Talbot Gateway regeneration project. It will be used by Blackpool and the Fylde College in collaboration with Lancaster University.
