Are you ready for Winter?

At UltraCrete, our priority is to ensure that you always have the information and support you need to help make the best use of our quality road maintenance materials. With the cold weather upon us again, UltraCrete are on hand to help you choose the right products for each application to guarantee an uninterrupted workflow through the next few months.

All cementitious products are affected by temperature. The cooler it is, the slower the setting time. So in the winter months, why not upgrade to a high performance mortar? UltraCrete provide a number of different grades and their team of industry specialists are on hand to advise you on the best product to suit your project and to maintain speed of application.

For perfect workability, it is important to protect all cement-based products from wind, rain and moisture by storing them in dry, frost-free conditions. Cover your products with a waterproof sheet and stack any bags or tubs above ground, preferably on a pallet, to prevent contact with a cold and damp floor.

For wet weather conditions, when resinous products cannot be applied, why not try UltraCrete’s high performance bedding mortar – Envirobed HA104®. This superior bedding mortar has been specially formulated for bedding ductile ironwork, covers and frames, boasts exceptional tensile, compressive and bond strengths and has been HAPAS approved by the BBA as part of the UltraCrete Manhole Reinstatement System.

All UltraCrete asphalts are manufactured using the latest technology available to ensure easy working and application even in colder temperatures. However, if you experience a slight firming this can be very easily remedied by applying light pressure to the side of the bag. This will restore material to its normal consistency, allowing you to continue with your repair without delay.

What’s more, many of UltraCrete’s world leading maintenance materials can be used in temperatures lower than 5°C, allowing work to be completed all year round.

Don’t be left out in the cold. Book a free consultation with one of UltraCrete’s highway experts for a review of your winter maintenance needs and to find the perfect solution for you. Contact the team today by calling +44 (0) 1827 254402 or email ultracrete@instarmac.co.uk.
