Local government should redefine the role of statutory officers, amid suggestions the role of HR director could be made statutory.
Birmingham City Council chief executive Joanne Roney told delegates at an HR managers conference that workforce was one of the major issues facing the sector, but there was ‘still a job to do to convince leaders it is worth investing in the workforce'.
