MJ Awards finalists announced

A total of 102 finalists have been selected for this year’s The MJ Local Government Achievement Awards, which attracted the highest ever number of entries.

The awards are to be made in 16 categories to reflect the full range and diversity of local authority services:- best achieving council, children’s services, community investor, reducing health inequalities, customer behaviour, delivering better outcomes, democratic services, innovative procurement, legal services, property portfolio, public private partnerships, public protection, quality in adult services, shared services, transformation through IT and workforce transformation

Judges have made their decisions on the shortlist of finalists, along with a total of 69 commended submissions, and the second phases of the awards will now get underway to decide the winning councils.

The overall award winners will be announced at the gala awards night on Thursday, June 21 at the Hilton Hotel, Park Lane, London.

Details of all finalists and commended local authorities are now available online and an awards brochure to be published in the issue of The MJ on Thursday, 26 April to give further details of the shortlisted submissions.
