Councils in talks over single workforce

Havant BC and East Hampshire DC are in talks over creating a single flexible workforce.

Leader of Havant, Cllr Michael Wilson, said the move would build on the ‘successful foundation’ of having a shared chief executive and management team.

He said: ‘All councils face many competing pressures – from reductions in government funding to the recovery from coronavirus - and it is clear we cannot stand still and allow these issues to overtake us.’

A Havant spokesman added: ‘These proposals are being considered as a way of delivering the kind of agility and financial sustainability that could not be achieved through piecemeal service improvements.’
