Cornwall Council and partners have launched an interactive learning tool to teach young people about climate change and coastal erosion.
A new educational game called CoastCraft is using the power of Minecraft to inspire the next generation to take action on climate change and coastal protection.
Developed by Cornwall Council, the Environment Agency, and Minecraft Education, CoastCraft challenges 9- to 14-year-olds to manage flooding, coastal erosion, and rising sea levels in a virtual version of Bude, Cornwall.
Players must balance community needs, protect wildlife habitats, and design sustainable defences—all within an immersive, gamified environment.
Part of the national Flood and Coastal Innovation Programme, the project helps young people understand real-world environmental challenges while encouraging creativity and problem-solving.
