Alliance Leisure is thrilled to announce the extension of its tenure as Lead Development Contractor on the UK Leisure Framework.
Over the next 4 years, working in partnership with Framework owner, Denbighshire Leisure, Alliance Leisure will work with an appointed supply chain to deliver not only a current committed investment of over £150million in leisure development projects but many more projects over the life of the new Framework.
The announcement is in line with Denbighshire Leisure’s third renewal of the Framework, launched in 2012, to provide public sector bodies, principally local authorities, an efficient means of procuring and delivering leisure development projects across the UK. Alliance Leisure, involved from the start, has to date delivered 58 projects ranging from £18m new builds and waterparks, to smaller-scale play areas and skate parks.
“Over the last five years, the UK Leisure Framework has provided a valuable and compliant means of simplifying leisure development projects for local authorities, ensuring projects are turned around quickly and efficiencies are maximised at every level of the supply chain,” says Paul Cluett, Managing Director at Alliance Leisure.
“During these testing times, as the UK navigates its way through Brexit and ‘builds back better’ after the pandemic, the UK Leisure Framework will help local authorities meet their commitment to create sustainable, engaging, fit for purpose active environments that play a vital role in the health and wellbeing of the nation moving forwards. We look forward to working with Denbighshire Leisure and the Framework suppliers to play our part in the creation of a more equitable, active and healthy society.”
The new iteration of the UK Leisure Framework comes into effect in February 2022 and will run for the next 4 years. Jamie Groves, Managing Director at Denbighshire Leisure, adds: “The UK Leisure Framework is the first and only leisure focused Framework and has proved its worth over the last five years, transforming public leisure facilities for communities up and down the UK.
“As we enter a new era where physical activity finally receives the recognition it deserves from government and policy-influencers for its role in a more healthy society, the Framework will continue to deliver value. Over the coming years we will continue to work with Alliance Leisure to break down investment barriers to ensure communities across the UK have access to the facilities they need to live more active lives.”
