A Reform UK councillor has been removed from his senior post at Suffolk County Council after posting a sexualised AI-generated image of a female colleague on X.
Chris Hudson, cabinet member for highways and transport, posted the image of fellow Reform councillor June Mummery on X on Monday. It showed her in a sequined bra alongside the slogan ‘I saved the Suffolk school nurses!’. The post has since been deleted.
Council leader Michael Hadwen confirmed the removal of Cllr Hudson ‘with regret’ and thanked him for his ‘hard work, dedication and service’.
Hudson told the BBC he intended a ‘girl power’ message, said Mummery was ‘definitely on board’, and apologised to anyone offended.
Cllr Debbie McCallum, Conservative Shadow Spokesperson for Communities, said: ‘We support the decision to remove Cllr Hudson from his Cabinet position. However, this cannot be where the matter ends. The circumstances surrounding the incident should be fully investigated, and appropriate further sanctions should be taken.’
