Nearly 120 school buildings containing dangerous concrete will be rebuilt or refurbished, the Government has confirmed.
The Government has published a final list of schools and colleges in England with confirmed cases of Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (RAAC).
There are over 230 education settings – out of 22,000 – with confirmed RAAC in some areas.
According to the Department for Education, 119 will have one or more buildings rebuilt or refurbished through the School Rebuilding Programme, and 110 will be given grant funding to remove RAAC where works will typically be smaller in scale.
Education Secretary Gillian Keegan said: ‘Nothing is more important to me than the safety of every child and member of staff in school.
‘We will continue to work closely with schools and colleges as we take the next step to permanently remove RAAC from affected buildings.’
