Streamline your training course booking operations with SkillGate’s Classroom Booking System.

Created by online training company, SkillGate, the advanced and highly versatile Classroom Booking System is designed to help organisations manage internal and external training.

It is already being used successfully by local authorities nationwide – Samantha Knight, Senior L&D Business Partner at West Suffolk Council describes it as ‘an effective, efficient and simple platform to use for those of us managing it back office, but also for all our staff.’

SkillGate’s Classroom Booking System offers countless features to help you improve your processes including:

• an internal and external training course booking system

• an eCommerce payment system

• an integrated capacity planner

• outlook and iCal integration

• booking, waiting list & cancellation options

• customisable authorisation procedures

• ‘tied’ course package options

• bespoke evaluation forms

• course certificate options

• detailed reporting

The flexible system offers a variety of course registration options and integrates with Outlook and iCal so appointments are instantly sent to attendees.

Lyn Smith, Learning & Development Support Officer at Charnwood Borough Council says, ‘We have found the classroom booking system has considerably reduced administration time and allows delegates to manage their bookings direct and receive automatic calendar invites and emails.

A Capacity Planner tool helps course organisers establish how many attendees they can expect on any course. Course reminders, cancellations, questions, updates and waiting list alerts are all incorporated as part of the Classroom Booking System communications options.

Emma Peachey, Senior HR Advisor at North West Leicestershire Council, says that, ‘Having a system where employees can book (and reschedule) their own places on a course at a time and date to suit them really helps us to manage and keep track of bookings. The SkillGate system is easy to use for both administrators and employees, and employee engagement in booking onto courses has increased as a result!

When one course won’t cover a subject’s full content, a few courses over a number of dates may be required. ‘Tied courses’ allow delegates to book onto a package of courses with just one booking.

Once the training course has run, attendee and no-show information can be uploaded to the system and reported on. Bespoke Evaluation forms can be sent to all attendees of the course to gather useful feedback. Certificates can be issued to attendees if relevant, and all kinds of reports, from Excel spreadsheets to colourful charts, can be pulled off to illustrate anything you need to report on.

Lyn Smith at Charnwood highlights, ‘Management Information such as attendance, scheduling and evaluation are all easy to set up and are presented clearly.

In addition, SkillGate’s Classroom Booking System also allows you to run your training courses for people outside your organisation. As well as providing the technology for external delegates to book onto courses you are running, it also features a payment system if you are looking to sell your training courses commercially.

Elaborating on her experiences with SkillGate, Samantha Knight says, ‘We have been working together with SkillGate since 2022 when we launched the platform, initially with their e-learning modules. We then implemented and went live with the Classroom Booking System in September of the same year. We loved the way that we were able to brand the platform to our organisation and SkillGate were fantastic at supporting and advising us along our journey.

The Classroom Booking System has streamlined and improved our processes immensely. Staff now can book directly onto courses with authorisation by their Managers. Emails are automatically sent with the details of the course including any necessary links. The attended delegates are sent evaluation forms to complete, which once completed come directly back to the system, so no chasing!

We have found SkillGate extremely helpful during the implementation stages and with the on-going support we receive.

Lyn Smith at Charnwood agrees, ‘The service we have received from SkillGate, from initial set up through to ongoing LMS support has been excellent, especially in terms of general communication and responsiveness to queries.
