A new regeneration blueprint for Wolverhampton city centre has been approved by City of Wolverhampton Council's Cabinet.
The 'Our Future City Centre Plan' identifies 33 potential development sites across 10 regeneration areas, which could deliver 6,750 new homes alongside long-term transformation of the city centre.
Areas covered range from the civic and cultural heart of Queen Square and St Peter's, to major residential growth at Darlington, St George's, Canalside, Chapel Ash and Graiseley, plus innovation and transport hubs at the Interchange, Springfield and Molineux.
The plan will bring forward new homes, employment space, leisure and culture, while reusing vacant land and heritage buildings. It follows public consultation and will be updated annually.
Council leader Stephen Simkins said the plan reflects community feedback and sets a direction for growth, calling it ‘a blueprint for how we will create a city centre that is vibrant, inclusive, and fit’ for the future.
