The Regulator of Social Housing (RSH) has published the findings of its latest survey into fire safety in social housing buildings over 11 metres tall.
Of 17,258 relevant buildings reported, 2,078 were found to have a life-critical fire safety defect relating to the external wall system.
More than 99.8% of relevant buildings have had a fire risk assessment carried out, and 76.7% (1,593) of buildings with defects are expected to be remediated within the next five years.
Remediation is complete for a further 6.7% (139) of buildings, which are awaiting confirmation from a building works assessment.
Of 2,889 buildings identified as having life-critical defects since June 2017, 811 (28.1%) have now been remediated or are awaiting a new assessment.
