Ipswich Borough Council has suspended the licences of two taxi drivers due to their failure to submit the correct documentation.
The drivers had been asked to provide medical certificates that demonstrated their fulfilment of requirements set by the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA), but did not do so.
A certificate is issued upon the completion of an exam that includes a vision check, blood pressure test, and medical history review performed by a doctor.
While the issue was discussed with the chair of the licensing and regulatory committee, council officers eventually did not consider any alternative options and immediately suspended both licences.
The move was made in accordance with the Ipswich Borough Council's Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Policy.
