Staff working in a town hall in Lincolnshire called in paranormal experts to investigate ghost sightings, according to the Mirror.
Workers in Louth Town Hall told the newspaper that they have had frequent, unexplained encounters which they put down to supernatural causes.
Andy Stancer, the site manager, claims he has heard leather shoes dragging across the floor when no one else was around.
He also says, according to the Mirror, that his bucket and mop have moved to the opposite side of the room, apparently of their own accord.
The hall was built in 1853 and was originally used as a prison with a condemned cell.
Two people have also died in the building: a man who was thrown from a landing in the 1970s and a boiler-room stoker who died tending the fire.
The ghost hunters, Paranormal Friends, will use K2 metres, lazer lights, spirit boxes, and glass divination to investigate the reports.
