Ealing Council is seeking approval to market six small development sites where building was halted in 2023.
The sites in Greenford, Southall and West Ealing were being built by Henry Contruction, while the Southall Market car park development was being built by 4 Square Services. However, works were stopped in 2023 due to the companies having gone out of business.
According to the council, the developments were initially expected to provide 230 homes – 174 of which were properties for London Affordable Rent.
Following the collapse of the contractors, the council has proposed to ‘market the sites to test interest and explore viable options for restarting the schemes’, with the aim of creating a report for cabinet which includes recommendations on the next steps.
If approved by cabinet tomorrow, over 300 affordable homes could be delivered to the community.
The local authority’s cabinet is separately considering plans for a proposed development in Northolt, which pledges to provide 100 council homes for social rent.

Ealing Council leader Peter Mason said: ‘Everyone benefits when more people have a secure, genuinely affordable home. The right home gives people the foundation they need to stay healthy, support their families, and play a full part in their community.
‘These proposals are about making progress towards more affordable homes across our 7 towns, whether that means finding a way forward for stalled sites or moving ahead with new developments such as Mandeville. There is still much more work to do, but these are important steps towards giving more local people access to a home they can afford.’
