The Welsh Government has revealed it will announce details of its council tax reforms later this year.
Following a consultation on the proposals, the Government in Cardiff is potentially planning ‘more progressive bands,’ regular revaluations and new arrangements for discounts and reductions, with further details expected ‘towards the end of this year’.
Updating the Senedd, the minister for finance and local government Rebecca Evans said the changes would come into effect from April 2025, adding: ‘With every year that we continue under the current arrangements comes more unfairness, carried by some of the poorest in society.
