Eighteen-year-old Sienna Churcher has become one of the youngest councillors in the UK after winning a by-election for Reform UK.

She said she wanted to join Barrow Town Council to address issues affecting young people in the Cumbrian town, including crime.

‘There are assaults against women and the police are not doing anything about it. They say there is not enough evidence, and they leave it at that,’ she told the Express.

The win follows the recent appointment of Reform UK’s Cllr George Finch,19, as the full-time leader of Warwickshire County Council.
