Kent CC's Department for Local Government Efficiency (DOLGE) has identified ‘millions of pounds worth of potential savings', leader Linden Kemkaran has claimed.
Savings include scrapping the Net Zero Renewable Energy Programme of property modifications that will save £32m over four years, stopping the transition of council vehicles to electric that will save £7.5m by 2030 and bringing children's care homes back in-house and purchasing four properties that will save £1.5m over two financial years from April 2026.
