Peers raise council capacity concerns

Questions have been raised over local government's capacity to play a role in the creation of new towns.

Cross-bench peer Lord Mawson asked local government secretary Steve Reed whether councils could provide meaningful input into the programme while undergoing widespread reorganisation, as he appeared before the House of Lords' Built Environment Committee.
