An AI-driven care system is enabling Medway Council to deliver support to residents in their homes.
The technology, Lilli, has assisted in delivering savings of £1.6m within a year of its introduction.
Installed with sensors and AI technology, the system registers activities such as eating, sleeping and movement, creating alerts when abnormalities arise in people’s routines at home.
The system allows carers to provide early interventions and determines levels of need for residential care, as well as ensuring vulnerable people can be checked on by family members.
Deputy council leader Cllr Teresa Murray said the system is ‘helping us to transform how we deliver care'.
Ms Murray added that Lilli has offered ‘much-needed reassurance to families that their loved ones are safe to stay in their homes and communities, which is where they want to be’.
The system is also supporting quicker assessments times for people with learning disabilities.
