Kensington and Chelsea Council has secured a High Court injunction to stamp out late-night car meets after some areas became hotspots for dangerous driving.
Secured alongside Westminster City Council and the Metropolitan Police, the order covers the Brompton and Hans Town ward between 6pm and 7am.
It prohibits attending, organising or promoting car meets involving dangerous or obstructive driving – and anyone found in breach faces arrest, imprisonment, unlimited fines or asset seizure.
Cllr Johnny Thalassites, lead member for resident services, planning, and enforcement, said the message was clear: ‘We won't tolerate it and you risk arrest, fines or even imprisonment.’
The injunction builds on existing Public Space Protection Order powers and allows evidence from CCTV, social media and witness statements to be used retrospectively.
