The Government has confirmed that millions of families will continue to receive the £150 Warm Home Discount each winter until the end of the decade.
Eligible households across Great Britain will benefit from the rebate each winter through the 2030/31 season, with reforms aimed at automating support for more Scottish recipients who previously had to apply directly through suppliers.
The extension builds on last year’s expansion, which added around 2.7 million households to the scheme, bringing total annual beneficiaries to approximately six million.
Energy Security and Net Zero Secretary Ed Miliband said the move will give families ‘much-needed peace of mind’ as wider measures to reduce energy costs continue.
