A former Tory councillor from Swindon has appeared in court charged with drugging and raping his ex-wife.

Ex-Swindon councillor Philip Young, 49, has been charged with 56 sexual offences, including multiple counts of rape, against his ex-wife Joanne Young.

The offences took place between 2010 and 2023. Joanne Young, 48, has waived her legal right to anonymity.

Five other men have also been charged with offences against Joanne, including rape, possession of extreme images, and sexual touching.
